"The haters" are already saying this song sounds like a Beyoncé reject and that Gucci Mane's version [listen to it here] is better. Ex Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland just can't catch a break in the U.S. market. I think Smooches is sassy, spunky, and a step outside the box for Miss Kelly. It's good to see that she can do music like When Love Takes Over and still produce "urban" music.

APPARENTLY Kelly Rowland "performed" at Will.i.am's Pre-Grammy Party this week.

For somebody who vocally trained with Beyoncé for over 10 years... I just don't understand.

Kelly Rowland wants to judge Simon Cowell's new show.

Kelly Rowland stated:
"The X Factor is an amazing show and Simon knows that all he has to do is call me. I love Simon because he's so honest. When I watch it, everything he says I agree with.

"If you're going to do something, you have to do it right. So when we see an upcoming artist, you either see potential or you don't see anything at all. It's important to be completely open and honest with them."

Simon Cowell confirmed rumors this week that he's leaving hit show American Idol after this season. He hopes to bring the U.K.'s hit show The X Factor to the American market.

The last of the caged birds finally will get a chance to sing!

Michelle's official statement:

“After much prayer and consideration I have decided to part ways from my management team, Mathew Knowles and Music World Entertainment. From my time in Destiny’s Child to my solo career, I am grateful for everything Mathew and his team has done for me. We’ve shared great success together. However, as I move in a new direction in my career, I felt it was time. I wish Mathew Knowles and the Music World Entertainment family all the best.”

It's about damn time! I guess since she joined the group last she left last? Or, maybe the inner church diva can't stand to be repped by a man who gets other women pregnant while STILL married?! Or, maybe after her last album Unexpected flopped and Beyoncé album came out three months later and got Grammy-nominations...child, so many different reasons!

BIG UPS TO MICHELLE THO! FLY GIRL! FLY!

Michelle's just landed in the U.S. from her role in the stage play Chicago in London. It was recently announced that her contract has been extended and she'll be playing in New York's rendition of the production on Broadway!

Kelly Rowland has a new charity.

A newly re-designed KellyRowland.com announced the news.

According to Rowland's website:
Kelly Rowland’s non-profit charity, I Heart My Girlfriends, will launch in early 2010. This charity is very close to Kelly’s heart. Her passion for helping others has been reflected in all her philanthropic work over the years. The charity will serve as an interactive support system for teenage girls.

Areas of focus for the Foundation will include:

• Self-esteem and Empowerment
• Teen and Young Adult Dating Violence Prevention
• Community Service and Mentoring
• Abstinence
• Physical Education and Women in Sports
